As the NBA prepares for next week’s official start of the 2024-25 season, Skims is taking a higher profile as the league’s official underwear brand.
Last year, the Kim Kardashian label became a partner of the NBA, WNBA and USA Basketball at the same time as it launched its Skims Mens collection. Last year, the brand featured NBA All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Brazilian soccer player Neymar Júnior and San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa in its ads. This season, Skims has turned to Donovan Mitchell.
The shooting guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers was shot by Hugh Wilson and wears the cotton 5-inch boxer brief, the stretch 5-inch boxer briefs as well as other styles from the men’s line in the arena and the locker room.

“It was special to shoot the Skims Mens campaign in the arena,” Mitchell said. “I felt completely comfortable being myself, which is what Skims is all about. Their underwear provides the support and flexibility I need off the court, while still looking and feeling great.”
“Donovan Mitchell embodies the energy and dedication that resonates with Skims,” said Jens Grede, cofounder and chief executive officer of Skims. “Launching this campaign during such a key moment in the NBA calendar allows us to engage with his fans and the wider basketball community. It’s a testament to our commitment to working with talent who represent the best in their fields.”
In addition to its ads targeted to the NBA, Skims also launched a campaign at the start of the WNBA season last year featuring Candace Parker, Cameron Brink, Dijonai Carrington, Kelsey Plum and Skylar Diggins-Smith.
Skims was created by Kardashian and Grede in 2019 and offers women’s underwear, loungewear and shapewear.
