Launched in 2018 by Jon Bon Jovi and his son Jesse Bongiovi, the Hampton Water Wine brand has quickly become a favorite for wine drinkers in the U.S. and will now offer a sparkling addition to its roster with Hampton Water Bubbly. Created alongside French winemaker Gérard Bertrand, the sparkling rosé from the South of France takes on the brand’s signature Hamptons lifestyle designed by the father-and-son duo in a more “playful” way.
Bon Jovi and Bongiovi said that the desire to expand the Hampton Water Wine portfolio is largely due to the brand’s speedy growth. According to Impact Databank, Hampton Water Wine is one of the fastest-growing still rosé wine brands in the U.S., up 28 percent in 2023.
“The response to Hampton Water has truly exceeded our expectations,” said Bongiovi. “To now be the fastest-growing French rosé in the United States and one of the top-selling French rosés here is truly amazing. It shows that people aren’t just drinking our wine — they’re embracing the idea that this is something they can make their own and enjoy however best suits their lifestyle. From 90-plus point ratings in multiple publications many years in a row, to an impressive collection of awards, the feedback has been incredible.”

While the founders said that sparkling wine has long been reserved for special occasions, Hampton Water Bubbly wants to rethink that sentiment, bringing out what consumers love about its still wine.
“Ever since consumers caught on to our still rosé, we’ve been asked about releasing a sparkling version,” said Jon Bon Jovi, cofounder of Hampton Water Wine. “We believe that rosé should be fun and easy to enjoy and we’re bringing that same sentiment as we enter the sparkling rosé category, by introducing a wine that’s less about exclusivity, and more about enjoyment. I look forward to sharing this incredible new blend with friends and family for many years to come.”
Bringing the sparkling rosé to life is something that Bongiovi said the brand has been working on for quite some time, and a process that he and his father have been incredibly hands-on with alongside Bertrand.
“Our winemaker Gérard Bertrand is a master in his craft, and having the chance to work with him to create this blend has been an amazing experience,” said Bongiovi. “Under Gérard’s leadership, we’ve been able to craft something truly unique. As we began the process, it was very important to us that we create a wine that is not overly sweet, which is something we’ve seen with many sparkling rosés.”
Some of the essentials in creating the sparkling wine, he said, was to incorporate grenache, which has been a backbone of Hampton Water still wine. At the same time, the brand’s sparkling rosé contains a reduced sugar content, while maintaining a light, crisp flavor. As a result, Hampton Water Bubbly has half the sugar of many other sparkling wines.
As the sparkling wine launches in stores and online, Bongiovi said he is most excited about carrying on the brand’s mission.
“When we first launched Hampton Water we believed that wine shouldn’t be stuffy and that remains true of Hampton Water Bubbly,” he said. “You don’t need a special occasion to pop a bottle of sparkling wine. We like to say that it’s perfect for a Tuesday — there’s no need to save it for a big celebration like a promotion or anniversary, although it’s perfect for those moments, too. Any moment, whether casual or more formal, can be right for Bubbly. The way we approach our wine is that it can be enjoyed anytime, and this sparkling blend is no different.”
